![]() Other signature features of yellow-breasted chats are their large, white eye rings, and blackish legs. These birds have olive upper parts with white bellies and bright-yellow throats and breasts. ![]() They have a long tail, a large head, and a relatively thick, heavy bill. Yellow Breasted Chats are small songbirds but are large and bulky compared to other warblers. The bird will commonly remain on the nest unless almost stepped upon. Eastern whip-poor-wills nest on the ground, in shaded locations among dead leaves, and usually lay two eggs at a time. These birds forage at night, catching insects in flight, and normally sleep during the day.
